Once the inspection and appraisal is complete, it’s time to put the closing date on your calendar. The seller does not attend closing. The title company will contact you 7-10 days before closing to have you stop in and sign a deed set. This gives the title company the authorization to sign on your behalf at the closing table. During this meeting you will also determine if you would like to pick up the proceeds in the form of a check, or if you would like the proceeds to be deposited to your bank account directly via wire transfer. If you feel that a wire transfer is the form of payment that you prefer, please bring your checking or savings account information with you to this appointment. If there is more than one owner (husband & wife) both parties must be present at this meeting.
